8mm Walgreens Manual

I don't know quite how to present this. It's instructions on how to use the 8mm film you purchased from Walgreens. Oddest part? Instructions on returning film from users traveling abroad. I had no idea what legal pitfalls that you could run into.

Mansfield Holiday Reflex Zoom

This thing is cool. I have a couple of video cameras in my collection but this is one of the few that could still be considered functional. The exposure meter makes it a prize in my collection.

I love the manual's bold instruction: "How To Take Perfect Movies" If only I could use this to make my own movie perfect.

Ephemera pt 7 - Camera Ephemera Blow Out

Nothing really compares to part six of the ephemera posts. Middle School is so weird. I'm gonna to the best I can and post a bunch of extras that I found with my cameras.






I wish I could explain more about these or relate a story about my life. Let me try. Hills Department Stores, remember those? No? They had a great toy department.

Instamatic 124

I love my camera collection. One of my favorites is my Kodac Instamatic 124. Its so small and simple that... well I'll let you see for yourself.

Isn't that neat looking? I have the original box with flash cubes and instruction manual and everything. The manual is amazing check it out:

I doubt anybody thinks these are as interesting as I do. Manuals to old cameras are so full of wonderful illustrations and depictions of people having way more fun than you can actually have with a camera. It helps that I'm just not getting into analog photography. It's so weird to get into the mindset of permanence and lack of control. You can't change what you've shot and you only have so many shots to take. You naturally want to have absolute control to make those the best shots ever, but you really don't have any control. Leastways I don't.

Touch Me Babe!

Yes, I actually have this. It's a handheld game from 1978 and it plays like Simon. If you think it's a copy you would be wrong. Although both were released in 1978, Touch Me was in arcades 4 years earlier as a stand-up cabinet.

As with so many things I love, here is the manual scanned by me.


First day of classes is tomorrow, but my first one is at 4:15 pm so I'm not too worried about sleeping through.

Kodak Brownie Bullet Camera - Manual

I was surprised to find this amongst the pieces from my Polaroid a manual to a Kodak Brownie Bullet. This manual is just as cool but in a "for kids" sorta way.

Oh and I found a big pack of Polaroid mounts. I've got like 14 of these. Heres a scan of the directions on the back.

I've got some more stuff like this. I'll see if I can get to scanning them sometime.

Polaroid Automatic 100 Land Camera - Manual

I received, for Christmas, an old Polaroid Camera. The best part of this is that it came with a full manual. It's full of complex directions on how to use this "automatic" camera. Some of the instructions are general enough to still applicable to modern cameras.

I love my camera collection. When I get back to school I'm going to do another photoshoot with them to catalog the whole set.
