Joanna is the photographer slash makeup girl for Without Troy. She's supposed to take pictures of the cast and crew. Then I taught her how to manual focus. I've created a monster.

Ephemera pt 1 - Working for the Colts
I'm posting a single photo/scan and talking about it. This stuff normally loses it's meaning quickly (thus ephemera) so hopefully this makes the magic lasts longer.
For the 2008 football season, I worked for the Indianapolis Colts as a photographer. This sounds like a dream come true. Regrettably I was asked to take pictures of the fans. Still not bad, I get to be there in the new Lucas Oil Stadium and see the game in person right? Sure, but I also had to take 200 pictures a game. I never reached my quota even once. It was so weird showing up to a job I knew I couldn't do, but they kept asking me back.
The problem lies in my greatest fear. You know how most people are deathly afraid of public speaking and would cry if they had to be in front of 63,000 people? I'm the opposite. I freak out if I'm part of the 63,000 fans there. As the stadium filled and the crowd swelled I would freeze up and I wouldn't be able to approach anyone to take there picture. In the end it was alright though because I got that sweet picture with my mom, my cousin Eli, and my Uncle John.
Super Bowl
I am way behind in posting these. I shot them all at my Super Bowl party, but getting them developed and then scanning them and then posting them, was a real hassle. At least they're here now. It's great having memories of that night. I made my famous veggie soup and my famous chili. This is the first time I've made them both for the same event. In addition to this I had veggie con carne and veggie con veggie options. I was rooting for the Steelers but mostly because my roommate and on again off again nemesis Tom was rooting for the Cardinals.
As the game went on and I got out my Holga camera I became progressively sedentary, having found my spot on the floor and dug in. I'm afraid that makes my pictures less interesting than they could be. I'm also afraid that most of my pictures are from my apartment. I spend almost all of my time there. It's kind of a hang out spot so everybody comes and sees me instead. This fits well with my sedentary ways, but should sediment settle I'm certain I would fossilize. Oh, I guess I should mention that some of these pictures are from the night we tried out bruise makeup for the movie. They fit in pretty well.
PS. Cara if you read this: There is no good way to take a picture of you. You really do glow.

Another week of Without Troy
So you know I've been working on this movie Without Troy? We just finished our sixth week. It was a lot tougher than I expected it to be. We didn't have as much time to shoot a scene than I wanted so we have to go back and try again this coming weekend. As it stands we'll have one day of re-shoots to get everything done on time. For the most part through everything is moving ahead smoothly, but it's starting to feel strange that this is all that I'm doing.
I guess this isn't all I'm doing. I got the help out this weekend with Random Acts. They needed an actor to play a professional World of Warcraft player turned Wii Tennis pro. I've never played WOW and I suck at Wii Tennis, but that's where acting comes in. I channeled the spirit of Kurt Angle and became more of a cerebral pro wrestler than what was expected of me. I'll post the video here when they finish it it.

Without Troy - Week 5
Here we are on the fifth week of Without Troy. This was a landmark shoot as we got to go to the Speedway Jail and shoot in a detention cell. It was so cool.
I even got to make a cameo as a passed out detainee. After we got back to campus we shot some scenes in the offices of BUPD to finish off the day.

Without Troy - Week 4
This weekend was crazy. Friday night we shot a wild party scene.
Don't worry, the blood is fake. Then we went did two more scenes on Saturday before going to Khoury's Greek Restaurant to shoot a fourth scene.
I'm not sure how I made it out of this weekend alive, but it's Sunday now, and I'm ready to rest.

Without Troy - Third Shoot
As you can see we have a lot of fun on set. If you haven't written and directed your own movie, do so.
