The Music of The Sound of Young America

I love The Sound of Young America. I love it so much that I'm a donating member of MaximumFun.org, and that means that I get to download the special radio edition of the podcast each week. Between the segments you get to hear some just perfect beats by Dan Wally. I haven't been able to find any information about Dan, but he is good. I ripped a couple of his beats out of TSOYA for my own purposes to use as ringtones, and I figured the rest of the world might like them too.

They Might Be Giants at The Vogue

They Might Be Giants' show at the Vogue, right here in Indianapolis, was mired by technical problems and the absence of Dan Miller. It was held up by the fact that TMBG will always put on a great show and we were in the front row! We met some cool people there including my good friend Sarah who was there for her birthday. She's the girl in several of the pictures that Linnell is looking down at. I was lucky to be in such a great position to take those pictures. It was an amazing time a great way to wrap up our tour of the Midwest with They Might Be Giants

They Might Be Giants at The Louisville Waterfront

On day two we drove down to Louisville, KY to see They Might Be Giants put on a live free show on the waterfront. We felt like we were miles from the stage, but we had a blast anyway. There aren't a lot of great photos from this one since we couldn't see much of anything. The sound was crisp and clear so we could hear TMBG play some of their more family friendly songs and deliver some terrible jokes about Louisville. The locals were dumbfounded by the claim that the sun is powered by millions of tiny baseball bats. It cracked me up.

They Might Be Giants at The Southgate House

This past week my good friend Tom and I went on a whilrwind tour of the midwest to see They Might Be Giants live and in concert. Our first stop was the Southgate House in Cincinnati or more accurately, since the best parts of Cincinnati are in Kentucky, in Newport. We got our picture taken with the band before hand and got our CDs autographed. This show was the best of the three we saw. The energy was massive and the band really fed off it. This was my first time ever seeing They Might Be Giants and I'm so happy that it was such an incredible show.

Tom's Corn Maze!

The gang heads to Tom's Corn Maze in Germantown, Ohio. My team won! Afterward there was a glow in the dark pumpkin launch! So much fun it looks like we're going to another corn maze next week. This time the largest in Indiana.

The Hall of Geeks

The Hall of Geeks is here! I posted my coloring of the Diabolical Crainiac and now I have completed the rest of the team. Big ups to my co-worker Anna for drawing these. The results are pretty great.

Crainiac Part 2

Took some time after work to color Anna's drawing of my super villain identitiy Crainiac! In coloring it I found that there were way more detail than meets the idea. Way to go Anna!

Browns @ Colts 9-18-11

Thanks to my great and generous Uncle John I was able to go to the Colts game this past Sunday against the Browns. It was a terrible game that any other year would have been a walkthrough but we lost and that's terrible. Still, I had a lot of fun. It was my first game at Lucas Oil as a fan. You may remember my brief time working as a photographer there that ranks as one of the worst jobs I've ever had. If this season gets worse I may get to go again. If I only get to go when the Colts are terrible, then I'll just have to live with that.
